Scott Nevins

Board Member

Scott Nevins is an award winning host, TV/Radio personality, writer, comedian, entertainment/ political news contributor, LGBTQ & HIV awareness activist, and producer. Best known for being one of the breakout stars and original cast members of Bravo TV’s series “The People’s Couch”, and formally from truTV’s hit show “truTV Presents: World’s Dumbest...”, Scott has performed his acclaimed solo shows to sold-out audiences around the country, worked with some of the industry’s biggest names, and has appeared on national TV on NBC, FOX, Bravo, CNN, CNN International, HLN, truTV, and LOGO, to name a few. For several years he was the cohost of “The Ann Walker Show with Scott Nevins” (Universal Broadcasting Network), served as a fill-in Host on Sirius Satellite Radio and KNews Radio, and most recently, as a political/entertainment contributor for NewNowNext. Scott has hosted hundreds of live events, and has produced or appeared in a long list of fundraisers for some of the nation's biggest organizations. Every Holiday season, Scott proudly produces and hosts his own yearly, musical fundraiser, “SPARKLE: An All-Star Holiday Concert”. 

Scott was chosen as an honoree for OUT Magazine's prestigious OUT100 list, and is the recipient of the Out There Award and the Silver ADDY Award (from the American Advertising Federation) for his work as an LGBTQ and HIV Awareness Activist. He was chosen by New York Magazine in their ‘Best of New York’ issue, and has appeared as the cover story for INSTINCT magazine.

Born and raised in Queens, New York, Scott now resides in Los Angeles, and Palm Springs, CA, with his partner, Philip, and is a proud godfather and Uncle to Ozzie, Juniper and Ace.

Carolyn Caldwell

Board Member

Carolyn Caldwell is president and chief executive officer of St. Mary Medical Center, Long Beach since June 2017.

Caldwell has 20 years of executive hospital leadership and more than 30 years of health experience.  Caldwell was Desert Regional Medical Center's (Tenet) executive officer prior to joining St. Mary.

Additionally, Caldwell is an American College of Healthcare Executives fellow. She received a master's in health care administration from Texas Women's University and spent 12 years in clinical services, as well as a bachelor's in zoology and chemistry.

Kevin Bass

Board Member

Kevin Bass moved to Palm Springs in 1992 and immediately began volunteering at Desert AIDS Project. As a result, Kevin has seen many changes and enormous growth in services over the past many years. Kevin was proud to serve as the Co Chair of the Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards in 2003, 2004 and 2006. He was honored with a Steve Chase Humanitarian Award in 2007. In addition to DAP, Kevin has been involved with many additional organizations in the Coachella Valley. In 2000, Kevin was elected to the Board of Gay Associated Youth (501C3), a local LGBT youth “drop in” center. Within 9 months, he was elected President of the Board where he served for 6 years. In 2008 he joined the National Board of the Human Rights Campaign where he served until 2012. Kevin is passionate about his professional life as well. He is one of the top real estate agents in Palm Springs and a member of the ASK Team at Bennion Deville Homes. In addition, Kevin owns 2 Home Health Care Agencies in Palm Springs and Newport Beach.

Athalie LaPamuk

Board Member

Athalie LaPamuk is best known around Palm Springs as the owner of Ice Cream & Shop(pe). She first visited Palm Springs in the summer of 2014 as an investor in the Arrive Hotel and became a full-time resident just a few months later.

Athalie was born and raised in New York then moved to California where she studied Communication and American Studies at Stanford University. She worked as a journalist for The Haitian Times and Red Herring Magazine before joining Facebook in its startup stage. Athalie worked to build out the advertising operations team, the marketing communications department and the satellite office in Paris over the course of five years.

Most recently, Athalie was featured on the Palm Springs Life 40 Under 40 list, highlighting young professionals in the desert. In addition to the ice cream shop, Athalie and her husband Adnan run a vacation rental business, a branding agency and a technology incubator, all in Palm Springs.
